What exactly is a “Personalized Book”?
In our wonderful stories, your child is the main character in his or her own adventure. Each book has your child’s name, age, hometown and one to three friends. In addition, a special dedication from you is included. Children are delighted to read their own story and will want to read it again and again.
What information is needed to personalize the book?
When you add a book to the shopping cart, our website will prompt you for all the necessary information. For most books, we'll need to know the child's gender, first and last names, hometown, and the names of 1 to 3 friends. There are some titles that require more information (such as birthdate for the birthday books). You may also give us optional information such as age, middle name and the name the child is called (such as a nickname). If we have questions, we'll contact you to confirm your order prior to production.
Will you share my information with anyone else?
No! We value your privacy and that of the children for whom you are purchasing books. We will only use the information you provide us to fulfill your order. Occasionally, we will email you information about our new products and specials. You may opt out of these by emailing us with “unsubscribe” in the subject line.
Do I have to pay Sales Tax?
If we are shipping your book to an address in Georgia, we are required to collect sales tax.
Is each book hardbound?
Yes, our books are quality hardback cover books, with a film laminated surface on each one.
Are the illustration pages inkjet printed or are they professionally printed on full size printing press?
All the illustrations have been pre-printed by a professional printing company for permanent full color pages. Create-A-Book books are keepsakes and will last a lifetime.
I have a niece who received a Create-A-Book twenty years ago. Is this the same Create-A-Book company?
Yes, Create-A-Book, Inc. was founded in 1980 and is the only publisher of personalized book who has been in business for 28 years. Create-A-Book is the name you can trust.
Can I order by phone?
No. We do not accept orders by phone. It is too easy to make an error. All orders must be in writing or ordered from the website.
Do you accept orders placed outside of the US?
No. At this time we only ship within the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
How Do I Place An Order?
We offer two (2) easy options to place your order:
Follow our simple ordering process. Browse our full range of products and add items to your shopping cart. If the item you are purchasing is personalized, you will be asked to enter the personalized information when adding to cart. When you have finished browsing, follow the simple checkout process. Ordering online is convenient and secure.
Order by Email:
You can also email your order to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please specify what product(s) you are ordering and where you would like your product to be shipped. Be sure to include your phone number along with your name, address, and order description (book title and ALL information to personalize the book). You will be invoiced via PayPal for the cost of the book and shipping. Personalization will not begin until payment is received.
How will I know my order has been received?
You will receive a confirmation stating the book(s) ordred and the total cost of your order. Confirmation notice will provide your order number.
Can I order for more than one child on the same order form?
No. Our books are designed to have only one star of the story. You can add other children names as friends/family members, but will not be mentioned as often.
Can I order more than one copy with the same information?
Yes. We have, on occasion, made more than one copy of our baby book for customers. Some order these extra copies for grandparents or family members.
Simply change the quantity number in the shopping cart.
What if a book I order is out-of-stock?
If a book you order is out-of-stock, we will email you after receipt of the order. It usually takes about 2 weeks longer if a book is not in stock. If you prefer not to wait the additional time, you may choose a different title, of the same price. Let us know in your reply email.
Can I Change the Information I Already Submitted?
Yes. Email us immediately at email@example.com since orders are processed immediately upon receipt of payment. Not later than 24 hours of placing your order.
Holiday Season: During the holiday season orders are expedited so you must notify us within 12 hours of placing your order.
Please provide your name, the child's name and the name of the book, and the information you would like to change.
Problem Processing My Order?

How long will it take to receive my order?
Orders are processed immediately upon receipt of payment, and mailed via the US Postal Service (USPS).
Shipping method determines length of time to receive your order.
If order will be delayed due to book materials being on order, you will be notified immediately.
Media Mail - 5 to 7 days
Priority – 2 to 3 days
What is this store's return and exchange policy?
It is extremely difficult to provide a return policy on personalized products because each product is created for a specific individual and cannot be resold.
Our goal is to ensure all of our customers are happy and completely satisfied with our products and our service. Therefore, we provide the following return policy to accommodate our customers as reasonably as possible.
- 1 Day = 1 business day.
- A full day counts on orders received before 12 noon EST
- Most orders are shipped within 1 - 2 business days of order being placed ( time may vary during the holiday season. Orders are processed in the order they are received).
- Customer will receive a notification the order has shipped and will be given the tracking number.
- Sales tax is calculated and applied to orders from the state of Georgia.
Money Back Guarantee
Our money back guarantee means: If, for any reason, you are unhappy with your purchase ( i.e. the item you have ordered is defective, or you have simply changed your mind) provided that it is in its original condition and Non-Personalized, you can return it to us for prompt replacement or refund within 30 days of delivery.
Unless there has been an error on our part, or the item you purchased is defective, we cannot accept Returns on 'Personalized' items, whether by name or date, as these cannot be sold to anyone else. Our website is designed to give customers every opportunity to check all input/personalization and dates. Please make sure to confirm the correct spelling and personalized information while placing your order.
What if My Storybook Adventure Makes a Mistake?
We make every attempt to ensure each book is correctly printed. We proof read our personalized books twice before they are printed and assembled. However, in the event that My Storybook Adventure makes a mistake, we will correct and replace the same book title at no charge. The item(s) must be returned in the condition in which you received it within 30 days of delivery (clean, no smudges, no water marks,no tears). Your return postage will be refunded.
What if I Provide the Wrong Information?
If YOU made a mistake in the information that you provided us, we will reprint a new book at your expense for 25% off the original price plus shipping. You will be required to return the original copy.
The returned copy MUST be in the original good condition ( clean, no smudges, no water marks, no tears) in order for the 25% discount to apply.
PLEASE NOTE: This does not apply to books bought with any Sales Coupon.
This 25% Discount does not apply to books bought with any Sales Coupon. Replacement will be at the Sale Price of the Coupon plus shipping. The total cost will be invoiced to you via PayPal.
What if My Order Arrives Damaged?
Seven (7) Day Notice: Contact us by e-mail at email@example.com or by the site Contact Form within 7 days of receiving your order. A refund or replacement will NOT be provided if we are not notified within 7 days of when the order is received.
What if I Don’t Receive My Order?
Time Limit: Contact us by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or by the site Contact Form no later than 2 weeks after placing your order.
We will check with the postal services with your tracking number to determine the problem. We will work with you in all ways possible to locate your order. If the postal service cannot verify the location of the order, we will ship a replacement immediately. Orders will NOT be replaced or refunded after 30 days from when the order was placed.
Exchanges: No book titles can be exchanged.
What If I Change My Mind?
Non-Personalized products returned to us because you have changed your mind must be unused, in perfect re-saleable condition, and must be returned within 30 days of delivery.
Personalized Products: We cannot refund an order if the item has been personalized and the order has been fulfilled correctly. Please make sure to check the spelling and personalized information while placing your order.

All customer information is kept strictly confidential, and under NO circumstances will your information be shared, traded, sold or give away any personal information such as names, phone numbers, addresses or email addresses to any third party for soliciting purposes.

This policy applies to ALL information collected or submitted on our web site. The information collected includes name, shipping/billing/email address and phone number. We also collect information for processing personalized products; this information includes child's name, age, hometown, friends, etc. This information is only used for billing purposes and to process your order.
Our web site also collects and tracks information about visits to our web site. This information is used strictly for stats to show the daily number of visitors to our site and where they came from, such as search engines, Pinterest,etc. These statistics contain NO personal information.

Why We May Contact You:
We will only contact you via email or phone if there is a problem or question related to your order, or via email regarding special offers or new products. We will also contact you in response to your question submitted via our Contact Form.
We currently ship only in the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.
We offer Media Mail and Priority shipping. Depending on how quickly you would like to receive your order, select either Media Mail or Priority.
Orders that exceed 13oz will ship Priority via the United States Postal Service (USPS).

When your order is mailed, you will receive an email including a tracking number and a link where you can track delivery of your order through the US Postal Service.
We make every attempt to ensure the mailing address is correct. However, if an order is returned to us due to incorrect or insufficient address that was submitted with the order, then shipping charges will be incurred to have your order reshipped. Cost of reshipping postage will be invoiced to you via PayPal.
Should this occur, you will receive an email notifying you of the situation and asked to make an address correction. Reshipping postage will be invoiced to you via PayPal.
How do I pay for my order?
Method of payment online is through PayPal. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover through PayPal. You may also make payments using your bank account, but this may delay your order. You can use major credit cards through PayPal even if you have no account. Sorry, no personal checks, money orders or cashier checks.
Payment is due within 24 hours from the purchase time.
Personalized products will not be processed until payment is made.
We do NOT share any personal information with PayPal. The only information provided is the contents of your shopping cart (product description, total purchase and shipping costs if applicable).
Important information about Credit Card payments
- Credit Cards may be charged immediately upon order.
- With a credit card payment, you will notice the charge on your bill or statement within 2 business days
- You will only be charged for the items that are shipped to you, along with applicable shipping/tax.
